About Vivek Vadkar
I’m Vivek Vadkar, a fine artist from Karjat, Maharashtra, India. My journey with painting began in childhood, evolving from a deep passion into my full-time profession and livelihood for the past 15 years.
Over these 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of showcasing my art in numerous successful group and solo exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. The overwhelming response to my work, coupled with my achievements in various national and international art competitions, has allowed me to build a strong clientele, reaching art lovers locally and globally.
My path, from a small village to establishing myself as an artist, has been marked by significant challenges, including a lack of basic facilities and the societal perception that art wasn’t a viable livelihood. Yet, it’s my unconditional love and unwavering devotion to painting that have empowered me to conquer these difficulties. I truly believe in the power and message of my art.
Awards & Recognition:
Born in Karjat, Maharashtra, my artistic journey is marked by significant accolades, including the Pune Art Festival Award (2010) and a State Government Award (2009). I was also a finalist in the International Artist magazine challenge (June-July 2012). My compelling works have graced the walls of prestigious galleries across India, from the esteemed Jehangir Art Gallery to The Taj Art Gallery in Mumbai. A true visionary, I continue to inspire, observing the world with fresh eyes and translating its unspoken narratives onto my canvases.
